Killeen Class - Where are we from? ~ Map

Hi Blog World,
Today we have been doing Cybersmart with Mr Hopkins. We have been using google maps to pin where we and 1 member from our family are from.
How far have some students travelled from their place of birth to reach HPS?

Faisal has travelled 13, 243 km to come to Hay Park School.

Why do people make the choice to move to different countries?

I think it is because they have family.

How many people have parents born overseas?

From our class we have 9 people who have their parents born overseas

Is this a trend in NZ society? What does the media tell us?
New Zealand has 40,000  people living in north shore.

Super - sentences

Hi Blog World,
In Killeen class we have been working on descriptive writing. This is my super- sentences. In this we change sentences up. Please give me some feedback. Please click on the link to view the sentences. Something I found tricky about this was dropping in chunks and alliterating it. But I managed to do it. If you could write some sentences like that, what would it be.

Task Card

Hi Blog Word,
Today we have been doing cybersmart with , Mr Hopkins. We have been talking about people stealing other peoples passwords and sending really nasty emails. This is my task card. There are some question you could  answer in the comments.  Something I found tricky was making up the questions.

- I would talk to someone I really trust such as, teachers and family.
- I think they might do this because you might have done something to them. Some people do cyberbullying just for fun ( even if you haven't done anything to them).
- Talk to a teacher about it, they might be able to stop the bullies.
- Talk to your pirncipal and family, they will be able to help you.
